Job description
Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of air conditioning systems, including chillers, packaged units, and split systems, to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in HVAC systems, utilizing technical expertise and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of defective components, such as compressors, motors, fans, coils, and control devices, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs, including filter changes, coil cleaning, lubrication, and system performance testing, to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of HVAC equipment.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls and address HVAC system malfunctions, providing timely and effective solutions to restore comfort and functionality in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities, resolve technical issues, and implement system upgrades or modifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including the proper handling of refrigerants, electrical safety procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise to develop their skills and enhance their understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in HVAC technology, industry standards, and best practices, participating in training programs and professional development activities to enhance technical competence.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in air conditioning repair and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, with a strong understanding of their operational principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex HVAC issues.
  • Proven ability to perform comprehensive repair and maintenance tasks on various types of air conditioning units.
  • Solid technical expertise in HVAC systems, including knowledge of refrigerants, compressors, and other key components.
  • Experience in conducting air conditioning maintenance, including cleaning, filter replacement, and performance checks.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Butterworth and adhere to the company's safety protocols.
