Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks an experienced AI Infrastructure Project Director to steer next‑generation AI infrastructure deployments. You will provide executive oversight from contract execution to operational handover, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and quality delivery.

You will govern delivery by coordinating leadership across infrastructure, networking, GPU clusters, and operations, while managing commercial performance and stakeholder expectations at the executive level.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Governance

• Own overall project delivery from contract execution through operational handover.

• Establish governance processes to monitor project progress, delivery readiness, quality, commercial performance, and project risks.

• Review project milestones and ensure alignment with business objectives, contractual commitments, and technical requirements.

• Drive executive-level decision making throughout the deployment lifecycle.

Commercial & Financial Management

• Own project budgets, forecasting, cost control, procurement oversight, and commercial performance.

• Manage contractual obligations, project scope, change management, and commercial risks.

• Review vendor quotations, procurement strategies, and project financial status.

• Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining delivery quality.

Cross-functional Leadership

• Direct and manage multidisciplinary technical teams, including:

  • AI Infrastructure Lead

  • AI Network Infrastructure Lead

  • GPU Cluster (H200, B200) Lead

  • Operations Lead

• Ensure effective collaboration across engineering disciplines.

• Resolve cross-functional delivery issues and remove project execution bottlenecks.

Technical Governance

• Review infrastructure, networking, GPU cluster, and deployment strategies to ensure technical readiness and delivery quality.

• Challenge technical proposals, deployment plans, schedules, and risk assessments when required.

• Ensure project implementation aligns with engineering standards, operational requirements, and business objectives.

• Provide executive oversight without assuming day-to-day engineering responsibilities.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Lead relationships with data centre operators, OEM partners, system integrators, logistics providers, and infrastructure vendors.

• Monitor vendor performance against contractual deliverables and project milestones.

• Coordinate project governance meetings and executive reviews with key delivery partners.

Executive Reporting

• Provide regular executive reporting to the CTO covering:

  • Delivery status

  • Budget performance

  • Project risks

  • Vendor performance

  • Schedule adherence

  • Mitigation strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.

• 6+ years of experience delivering large-scale data centre, AI infrastructure, HPC, cloud, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.

• Prior hands-on engineering experience before progressing into project or programme leadership.

• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Strong commercial, budgeting, procurement, and vendor management experience.

• Experience managing project delivery from contract execution through operational handover.

• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong understanding of project governance, delivery assurance, risk management, and quality control.

• Ability to review technical deployment strategies across infrastructure, networking, and GPU cluster environments.

• Comfortable working with executive stakeholders and reporting directly to the CTO.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering AI, HPC, or GPU infrastructure projects.

• Familiarity with NVIDIA AI infrastructure ecosystems, GPU cluster deployments, or equivalent hyperscale infrastructure.

• Experience working with data centre operators, OEMs, and system integrators.

• Exposure to international infrastructure projects.

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
