Job summary

IHH Healthcare Berhad is seeking an AI Engineer & AI Assurance Specialist to drive AI-enabled audit capabilities and governance across its international network. You will blend AI engineering, audit analytics and intelligent automation to support digital transformation and strengthen risk oversight.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on AI experience, structured/unstructured data handling and a proactive approach to governance, model risk, and regulatory compliance within healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Statistics or a related discipline.
• 1-5 years of experience in AI, data analytics, data science, information technology, audit analytics, intelligent automation or related fields.
• Experience in developing data analytics, dashboards, automation scripts or AI-enabled solutions would be an advantage.
• Exposure to Internal Audit, IT Audit, Risk Management or Governance functions would be an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply emerging technologies.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audit work, including risk assessment, internal control evaluations, and compliance reviews
• Collaborate with audit teams to plan and execute audit engagements, including the use of data analytics, AI tools and automation where relevant.
• Prepare audit reports and present findings/ observations to management and stakeholders.
• Design, build and maintain AI-enabled solutions to enhance audit planning, execution, reporting and knowledge management.
• Develop Generative AI applications, audit copilots, knowledge assistants and intelligent automation solutions.
• Implement machine learning, natural language processing and advanced analytics techniques to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency.
• Lead or support audits of AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning and Intelligent Automation initiatives across the Group.
• Assess AI governance frameworks, model lifecycle controls, Responsible AI practices and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate AI-related risks including model bias, explainability, hallucinations, privacy, cybersecurity and third-party AI risks.
• Develop frameworks and tools to assess the effectiveness, reliability and performance of AI models.
• Build monitoring capabilities to identify model drift, control weaknesses and emerging AI risks.
• Support continuous assurance over critical AI and GenAI implementations.
• Collaborate with auditors and data scientists to develop analytics, predictive models, risk indicators and continuous monitoring solutions.
• Support data-driven auditing and AI-enabled control testing.
• Develop AI audit methodologies, risk assessment frameworks and control libraries.
• Provide training and advisory support to audit teams on AI risks, governance and emerging technologies.

The AI Engineer & AI Assurance Specialist serves as Internal Audit’s subject matter expert for Artificial Intelligence, responsible for both developing AI-enabled audit capabilities and providing assurance over the organisation’s use of AI. The role combines AI engineering, audit analytics, intelligent automation, AI governance and model assurance to support Internal Audit’s digital transformation agenda and strengthen oversight of emerging technology risks.

Key Accountabilities:
