Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Project Lead, Software Development to spearhead the design and build of a new payroll software system. The role emphasizes AI-assisted development and automation, requiring independent leadership and cross-department coordination.

You will guide end-to-end delivery, own the project timeline, and ensure integration with existing HR/finance systems while maintaining existing tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Software Developer with full lifecycle involvement.
• Hands-on experience building software from scratch, ideally payroll/HRIS related.
• Comfortable using AI tools as part of the development workflow.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work without a dedicated team.
• Solid IT background including system integration and troubleshooting.
• Good analytical skills and proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Experience coordinating with vendors or cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and rollout of a payroll software system built from scratch.
• Leverage AI tools for code generation, testing, and deployment to accelerate delivery.
• Apply AI-assisted coding and workflow automation to boost efficiency.
• Define system architecture, data models, and integration points with HR/finance systems.
• Own the project timeline, milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain internal software tools and systems.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
• Ensure security, data accuracy, and compliance with internal policies.
• Coordinate with other departments and external vendors to ensure smooth data flow.
