Job summary

HP is seeking a College Intern in Agentic AI Engineering in Penang, Malaysia. You will support hardware and software teams, assist in notebook AI PC component design, prototyping and testing, and help analyze test data to drive improvements.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a CS/CE degree, can commit to 5–6 months full-time starting January 2027, and show a strong interest in AI and hardware technologies with teamwork and initiative.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrates teamwork, communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship, starting January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Lead an Agentic AI hardware/system engineering innovation project and collaborate with senior engineers on AI prompting and AI applications.
• Assist senior hardware engineers in design, testing and validation of notebook AI PC components and Agentic AI systems.
• Participate in prototyping of new notebook designs and help assemble and configure test units.
• Diagnose hardware issues in notebook PCs and assist with problem resolution and root cause analysis.
• Collect and analyze test data, generate reports, and present findings to the engineering team.
• Work closely with software, mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure cohesive product development.
• Conduct research on emerging hardware technologies and trends to support notebook AI PC design.
• Engage in continuous learning, training sessions and mentorship to deepen notebook PC hardware engineering knowledge.
