Job description

AME coordinates and manages IS projects and processes within a manufacturing environment for NPDI projects and during plant-to-plant transfers. The role collaborates globally with cross‑functional teams to drive market readiness, operational excellence, and capacity planning to support business growth. Responsibilities include scenario planning, project execution management, translating the voice of the customer into Design for Manufacturing, FMEA analysis, supply‑chain mapping, optimization of lead time, cost, and capital, prototyping, piloting, manufacturing facility layout, and product line testing.

Responsibilities
  • Expertise in applying problem‑solving and process improvement methods/tools (NPDI, ERP, MOM/MES, Traceability, Process Map, KPIs, Gemba, Process Mining, B.B.).
  • Partner with business units and functions to accelerate development of operational excellence opportunities and delivery of quality and efficiency projects through sustained process improvement and digital transformation.
  • Install lean and problem‑solving excellence globally.
  • Cross‑functional experience and exposure to enterprise‑wide improvement projects.
  • Ensure consistency in scoping, procurement, execution, and sustainment of automation projects across plants.
  • Lead the Design for Automation process creation & continuous improvement within Vertiv’s New Product Development Introduction process.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and roadmaps related to the integration of automation technologies globally, maximizing ROI to improve operational performance at Vertiv manufacturing sites.
  • Adapt lessons learned from different manufacturing processes and reapply the methods to design, layout, specify, and integrate plant processes.
  • Technically drive industry standards and set guidelines for electrical, controls, robotics, system software, and integration.
  • Provide leadership analysis, design of the process, and facilitation of external system integrators to implement projects globally.
  • Actively lead research of emerging technologies and industry usage to build future competitive advantage for Vertiv’s manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with site operations & engineering managers, enterprise lean & EHS, and Digital manufacturing team.
  • Create and enhance current methodologies of automation assessment models for factories and warehouses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation Technology, or related).
  • 5–7 years of Lean Manufacturing & VSM experience.
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies such as automation, robotics, and additive manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence and process improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience implementing advanced manufacturing technologies and automation processes.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to drive change in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in advanced manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Manufacturing Training/Expertise (Lean, Six‑Sigma, etc.).
  • Experience with DFM.
  • Knowledge of PMP process.
  • Experience with new manufacturing line setup.
  • Knowledgeable in product cost management.
  • PMO certification or equivalent experience.
