Job summary

Zebra Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist Senior to lead complex AP processes, own month-end closings, and mentor junior staff. You will ensure accurate vendor payments, resolve inquiries, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency.

The role emphasizes process improvements, strong accounting principles, and the ability to coordinate with auditors. This hybrid role offers flexible hours and opportunities to contribute to financial health

Responsibilities

• Month-End Closing Activities: Participate in month-end activities, including accruals and reconciliations. Assist in preparing financial reports and meet deadlines.
• Query Resolution: Lead the resolution of complex queries related to invoices and purchase orders, including discrepancies in delivery, pricing, or payments. Foster effective communication channels with suppliers and internal departments to clarify issues and ensure timely, strategic resolutions that support overall business objectives. Serves as first contact point for escalations.
• Stakeholder Management: Independently lead communication with internal and external stakeholders, effectively managing and overseeing the entire Accounts Payable process from end to end. Ensure timely and effective resolution of issues, providing strategic insights to facilitate smooth operations and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborative Support: Serve as an expert in the AP field, teaching and mentoring colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster a collaborative environment within the team, ensuring seamless operations and providing strategic support during high-volume periods.
• Innovative Project Leadership: Identify opportunities for improvement and develop comprehensive plans, independently leading projects from inception to completion. Present updates and outcomes to relevant audiences and senior management, demonstrating strategic thinking and effective project management.
• Team Leadership and Support: Actively engage in team activities, taking on additional responsibilities to support colleagues and manage workload efficiently. Serve as a backup for the AP Supervisor in their absence, covering the majority of AP activities and ensuring operational continuity.
• Flexibility: Perform other duties as assigned, leveraging its capabilities to support the team and company objectives. Adapt to changing priorities and take on ad-hoc tasks as required.
