Job summary

MVC Resources is seeking an experienced Finance Manager in Kuala Lumpur to lead the full accounting and finance function for the company and related entities. You will supervise the Accounts & Finance team, oversee the full-set of accounts, and drive month-end and year-end closing with timely financial statements and management reports.

You will monitor project accounting and costing, manage cash flow and working capital, and collaborate with auditors, tax agents, and other external parties.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA/MIA/CPA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience with managerial/supervisory capacity.
• Experience in Construction/Property Development industry is highly preferred.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience.
• Proven ability to lead, supervise and develop an accounting team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions for the company and its related entities.
• Manage and supervise the Accounts & Finance team to ensure smooth and accurate day-to-day operations.
• Review and oversee full set of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing process and ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor and review project accounting, including project costs, revenue, billing, WIP and project profitability.
• Oversee project costing and cost control, including monitoring actual costs against budgets and identifying variances.
• Prepare and monitor cash flow projections, working capital and payment schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial analysis for management decision-making.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate recording of construction/project-related transactions.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables; work with departments to improve cash flow and collection.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers and other external parties on finance matters.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements and statutory regulations.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures and financial processes to improve efficiency.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations on project performance, cost management and overall financial performance.
• Perform other finance and accounting duties or ad-hoc projects as assigned by Management.
