Job summary

JST Smart Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Klang, Selangor invites motivated accounting students for an Accounts Intern role. You will support the Finance team with daily accounting and administrative tasks, AP activities, data entry, and month-end closing.

Gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, work closely with the Finance Controller, and develop Excel and SAP skills while delivering accurate financial records.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of accounting software or SAP is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willing to learn and work independently with guidance.
• Responsible, organised, and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) activities, including checking and recording supplier invoices.
• Verify invoices against supporting documents such as PO and DO.
• Assist in preparing and organizing documents for supplier payments.
• Assist with supplier statement reconciliation and follow up on outstanding items.
• Perform accounting data entry and ensure transactions are recorded in the accounting system.
• Assist with account reconciliation and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Assist the Finance team with month-end closing activities.
• Maintain filing and organization of accounting documents and records.
• Assist in preparing reports, schedules, and other accounting documents.
• Support the Finance team in audit and other accounting-related activities.

The Accounts Intern will support the Finance team in daily accounting and administrative activities. The internship provides practical exposure to Accounts Payable, accounting documentation, data entry, account reconciliation, and month-end closing activities. The intern will work closely with the Finance Controller and accounting team and will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing company environment.

Key responsibilities

Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) activities, including checking and recording supplier invoices.

Verify invoices against relevant supporting documents such as Purchase Orders (PO) and Delivery Orders (DO).

Assist in preparing and organizing documents for supplier payments.

Assist with supplier statement reconciliation and follow up on outstanding items where required.

Perform accounting data entry and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.

Assist with account reconciliation and preparation of supporting schedules.

Assist the Finance team with month-end closing activities.

Maintain proper filing and organization of accounting documents and records.

Assist in preparing reports, schedules, and other accounting documents as required.

Support the Finance team in audit and other accounting-related activities.

About you

Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Basic understanding of accounting principles.

Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of accounting software or SAP will be an added advantage.

Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Willing to learn and able to work independently with guidance.

Responsible, organized, and able to meet deadlines.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
