Job Description
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including processing invoices, verifying claims, and issuing billings.
- Prepare and post journal entries into the General Ledger (GL) to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Perform periodic bank reconciliations and assist in clearing open items.
- Maintain the Fixed Assets register, including tagging of assets and recording depreciation.
- Assist in inventory reconciliation and participate in periodic stock counts.
- Support the team in the full spectrum of the month-end closing process to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules and data required for monthly financial statements and management accounts.
- Compile data to support the preparation of cash flow reports and variance analysis.
- Assist in compiling historical data and expense reports to support the Assistant Finance Manager during the annual budgeting and forecasting exercises.
- Track actual expenses against the budget on a monthly basis.
- Ensure all data entry and documentation comply with internal control procedures and accounting policies.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and retrieve documents for external auditors and tax agents.
- Participate in system testing (UAT) for any accounting system enhancements or upgrades as required.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records to ensure easy retrieval and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Perform other administrative or ad-hoc finance-related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Finance Manager.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business-related degree or ACCA/CIMA professional qualification.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to lead and maintain effective communication channels with all subordinates.
- Mature candidate with high initiative, possess positive attitude and self‑motivated team player.
- Proficient in MS Words, Excel & Power Point and accounting software.
