Job summary

Well Chip in Malaysia seeks an Accountant to manage full-set accounts, including monthly, quarterly and yearly closings, ensuring accurate journal entries and reconciliations. A Diploma/Degree in accounting or finance and proficiency in Excel are required; SAP Business One experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• Good working knowledge of MFRS and basic understanding of Malaysian tax regulations.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; SAP Business One experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts for assigned companies, including monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments and adjustment entries accurately.
• Perform bank, intercompany, AP/AR, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process self-billing invoices for e-invoice compliance via MyInvois portal.
• Assist in monthly management accounts, variance analysis and financial reports.
• Support audits and liaise with external auditors during statutory audits.
• Maintain filing and documentation of accounting records.
• Support group reporting and consolidation requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers and company secretary as required.
• Handle other ad-hoc accounting tasks.

Job Scope

• Handle full set of accounts of assigned companies, including monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayment and adjustment entries accurately on a timely basis
• Perform bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, accounts payables/receivables reconciliations and other balance sheets reconciliations
• Prepare and process self-billing invoices for e-invoice compliance, including validation and submissions through the MyInvois portal
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis and financial reports
• Support the compilation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during the statutory audit process
• Maintain proper filling and documentation of accounting records and supporting documents
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial entries, reconciliations and reports
• Work closely with superior to support group reporting and consolidation requirements
• Liaise with external auditors, internal auditors, tax agents, bankers and the Company Secretary when required
• Handle any other ad-hoc accounting tasks and assignments

Requirements

• Possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field. Partial professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or MIA will be an added advantage
• Good working knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and basic understanding of Malaysian tax regulations with experience in tax filling and estimation will be a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Words. Experience with SAP Business One or other ERP systems will be an added advantage
• Strong attention to details, accuracy and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Proactive, reliable and a good team player to work independently when required
