Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting across sales and manufacturing entities and to lead a small team toward modern, automated workflows.

The role requires 8+ years in accounting with 2–3 years in supervising, strong Excel/SQL skills, and a solid grasp of Malaysian tax rules. You will drive ERP migration and ensure timely financial reporting and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience with 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in SME manufacturing, engineering, or trading environments.
• Proficient in SQL and advanced MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of local tax regulations, bookkeeping, and cost controls.
• Interest in accounting software migration and workflow automation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to guide junior staff.
• Attention to detail and proactive, independent work style to meet deadlines.
• Multilingual with English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-spectrum accounting across AP/AR, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and month/year-end closing.
• Oversee treasury, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with schedules.
• Handle inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
• Monitor inventory valuation, product costing, and stock controls.
• Lead migration from manual processes to automated ERP software.
• Coach 2-3 direct reports to adopt digital workflows.
• Establish internal controls, policies, and records filing.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, regulators.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards and tax filings.
