Job summary

Ikano-Retail Malaysia is seeking an Account/Finance professional to manage tenant billing, invoicing, and collections for shopping centre operations. The role supports AR tasks and collaborates with the Assistant Accounting Manager.

Candidates with a Diploma/degree in Accounting and at least 3 years of relevant experience, fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English, are preferred. The position is full-time and located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Accounting.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• MS Office proficiency (Word/Excel).
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage tenant billing: rental, utilities, marketing, and other invoices.
• Perform monthly GTO rental calculations and invoice issuance.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables and timely collections.
• Issue reminder letters and chase payments; communicate with tenants.
• Calculate and issue late payment interest for overdue invoices.
• Reconcile carpark income and ensure SST calculation.
• Maintain daily/weekly tenant collection status; participate in Credit Control Meetings.
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Keep accurate records and supporting documents filed.
• Assist AR-related tasks and reporting for Assistant Accounting Manager.

About the job

The Finance function safeguards the financial health of the Shopping Centre business by ensuring accurate reporting, strong governance and effective control, while providing insights that support decision-making, performance management and sustainable growth

Your assignment

• Responsible for managing tenant billing processes, including issuance of rental, utilities, marketing, other income invoices
• Perform monthly GTO rental calculations and invoice issuance.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables, ensuring timely collection within agreed terms.
• Issue reminder letters and actively chase payments, maintaining consistent communication with tenants.
• Calculate and issue late payment interest for overdue invoices.
• Perform carpark income reconciliation and ensure timely SST calculation.
• Update and track tenant collection status on a daily and weekly basis. Participate in monthly Credit Control Meetings, providing updates on collection status and issues.
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies .
• Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring all supporting documents are properly filed.
• Support Assistant Accounting Manager and Accounting Manager in AR-related tasks, reporting, and follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Accounting.
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity.
• Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English. Both written and spoken.
• IT literate and proficient in MS office applications. E.g. Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced with minimal supervision.
• Able to work under challenging working environment.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in billing, reconciliation, and records.
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
