Job summary

enGreen Sdn. Bhd., a construction and trading company based in Petaling Jaya, is seeking a dedicated Accountant to manage the full set of accounts, perform month-end closings, and prepare monthly and annual financial statements. The ideal candidate has a degree or diploma in accounting, at least five years’ experience in a Sdn.

Bhd. environment, hands-on GST submission and year-end audit, and proficiency with Xero or other accounting software.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in accounting or related qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of full set accounts experience in a Sdn Bhd.
• Experience with GST submission and year-end audit.
• Proficiency in Xero or other accounting software.
• Strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations and inventory/stock records.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in Xero or other relevant accounting systems.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, trial balances, profit and loss statements, balance sheets and other financial reports for Management.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing, including account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules and financial statements.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, debtor aging, customer collections, supplier payments, and payment processing.
• Assist with SST returns and other statutory submissions, and ensure timely payment of statutory contributions such as EPF, SOCSO, and EIS.
• Assist with tax matters and provide financial records to external tax agents, auditors, and bankers.

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and qualified Accountant to join our construction and trading company based in Petaling Jaya. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts and day-to-day accounting operations, including bank reconciliation, month-end closing, and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. The role will also involve monitoring budgets and cash flow, handling taxation matters such as SST and income tax, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The candidate will also liaise with external auditors and tax agents and assist with audit and tax-related matters when required.

Key responsibilities

Manage the full set of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliation, and inventory/stock records.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in Xero or other relevant accounting systems.

Prepare monthly management accounts, trial balances, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports for Management.

Perform month-end and year-end closing, including account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules and financial statements.

Monitor accounts receivable and payable, including debtor aging, customer collections, supplier payments, and payment processing.

Prepare and submit SST returns and other statutory submissions, and ensure timely payment of statutory contributions such as EPF, SOCSO, and EIS.

Assist with tax matters and provide the necessary financial records and supporting documents to external tax agents.

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, legal representatives, and other relevant parties on accounting, audit, and tax matters.

Assist in budget preparation, cash flow monitoring, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support effective financial planning and cost control.

Review financial information and operating reports, and provide relevant analysis and insights to Management.

About you

Degree/Diploma in Accounting or related qualification.

Minimum 5 years working experience handling full set accounts in Sdn Bhd company.

Hands-on experience with GST submission and year-end audit.

Familiar with Xero or others accounting software.

Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia. (Mandarin advantaged)

Meticulous, strong sense of responsibility and able to meet closing deadlines.

Experience in the construction or property development industry will be an added advantage.
