Job summary

Biocon Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced Electrical Chargeman to lead and manage the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across the facility. You will ensure reliable UPS operations and support uninterrupted plant activities in a GMP-regulated environment.

The role requires 6-10 years of electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing, strong knowledge of distribution systems and switchgear, and hands-on management of contractors and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• A4 Chargeman certification is required.
• 6-10 years of electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, UPS systems, switchgear, motors and facility utilities.
• Experience managing contractors, vendors and maintenance projects.
• Familiarity with GMP, EHS and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• Good communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across the facility.
• Ensure reliable operation of UPS systems (400kVA, 100kVA, and 80kVA) and support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical equipment (power panels, LV switchboards, motors, pumps, blowers, pass boxes, LAF units).
• Monitor, operate, and maintain LV distribution systems including switching, isolation, energizing/de-energizing activities.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, power interruptions, and equipment breakdowns promptly.
• Coordinate with external vendors for UPS AMC, servicing, calibration, and compliance activities.
• Plan and execute periodic replacement and maintenance of lighting systems for optimum illumination.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical panels, wiring, machinery, and records.
• Handle electrical work permits and ensure safety regulations and internal procedures are followed.
• Act as authorized person for electrical safety, enforce safe work practices and monitor contractor compliance.
• Supervise technicians and contractors to ensure safe and efficient maintenance activities.
• Support facility maintenance related to cleanrooms, doors, utility pipelines, and infrastructure.

• Familiarity with GMP, EHS, and regulatory compliance requirements is an added advantage.

• Good communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
