33kV Critical Facility Engineer – Data Center Reliability

Job summary

Vantage is seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to operate and maintain its critical infrastructure in a high‑volume data center. You will manage 33 kV electrical installations, switchgear, transformers, UPS, and related systems to ensure maximum uptime and safety.

This role requires hands-on experience with HV switching, protective relays, and BMS/DCIM platforms, plus strong documentation and incident response abilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Chargeman B0 (33kV) Certificate of Competency from Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in critical facility operations or data centers.
• Strong knowledge of 33 kV switchgear, transformers, protection relays and coordination.
• Experience with cooling, BMS/DCIM, CRAC/CRAH units and UPS systems.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams and electrical drawings.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, standby, and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain 33 kV electrical installations, transformers, protection systems, generators, UPS, and downstream distribution networks.
• Perform 33 kV switching, isolation, energization, and transfer activities per PTW and safety rules.
• Monitor and maintain 33 kV switchgear, protection relays, ATS, battery systems, LV distribution, HVAC, pumps, and BMS/DCIM.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment reliability.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, perform troubleshooting and recovery to minimize service impact.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and service providers performing maintenance and testing.
• Maintain documentation including SLDs, switching schedules, maintenance records, and SOPs.
• Participate in RCA, incident investigations and continuous improvement.
• Support 24x7 operations and on-call rotations as required.
