Job summary

UNICEF Mexico is seeking a WASH Officer (NO-2) to strengthen WASH systems and deliver child-focused water, sanitation, and hygiene outcomes. You will work with government and partners to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate programmes that improve service delivery and policy alignment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, supporting preparedness and response in emergencies, and driving innovation and knowledge sharing to advance WASH in underserved communities.

Qualifications

• WASH systems strengthening and programme management experience.
• Minimum two years in WASH-related programmes in developing countries.
• Supervisory/managerial experience required.
• Experience strengthening WASH systems at community or institutional levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan WASH programmes aligned with UNICEF goals and national priorities.
• Manage programme activities, monitor progress, and ensure delivery of results with technical support.
• Contribute to humanitarian WASH preparedness and response in emergencies.
• Engage extensively with government counterparts, NGOs, and stakeholders.
• Drive knowledge management, learning, and capacity building within WASH.
