Formación

Overview of the Position

Trade Compliance Specialist – USMCA Expert is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Mexico and U.S. trade regulations, with a strong focus on USMCA. This role supports manufacturing and cross-border operations by acting as a subject matter expert in trade compliance, origin determination, and regulatory requirements.

Location : Reynosa

Purpose and Major Responsibilities of the Position
  • Serve as the USMCA Subject Matter Expert, ensuring accurate origin determinations and certifications
  • Prepare, review, and maintain USMCA certifications, supplier declarations, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican and U.S. customs regulations, including IMMEX and CBP requirements
  • Support and participate in internal and external trade compliance audits
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to ensure compliant material flows
  • Monitor regulatory changes in USMCA, Mexico, and the U.S. and assess business impact
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and authorities
  • Identify compliance risks and support corrective action plans
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on trade compliance requirements
Minimum and Knowledge Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business, Logistics, Law, or related field
  • Strong expertise in USMCA, including rules of origin and certification processes
  • Solid knowledge of Mexican and U.S. trade and customs regulations
  • Experience in manufacturing or IMMEX / maquiladora environments
  • Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
