Formación

Trade Compliance Manager

Reports to: Global Logistics Director

Location: Hybrid

a National Pen brand is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager who is responsible for ensuring that all international trade activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role manages compliance with foreign trade regulations and develops strategies to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency in international trade. The manager also serves as a subject matter expert on trade laws, sanctions, tariffs, and classifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain global trade compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations including, but not limited to, US PGAs, CTPAT, OEA, EAR, OFAC, and international customs regulations.
  • Oversee trade compliance globally to ensure documentation, classification (HTS, ECCN), valuation, and licensing requirements are met.
  • Monitor and interpret changes to trade compliance laws and regulations, advising internal stakeholders on impacts and necessary changes.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments related to trade compliance.
  • Manage denied party screening, embargo checks, and end‑use verification processes.
  • Collaborate with import / export, logistics, procurement, legal, and finance teams to ensure compliant supply chain practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on global trade compliance requirements.
  • Interface with government agencies and external legal counsel as needed.
  • Lead and support investigations and disclosures related to trade compliance violations.
  • Lead a team of specialists to manage all trade compliance requests from internal and external customers.
  • Develop and manage compliance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the trade compliance program.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, trade law, supply chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing international trade compliance, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of global trade regulations (FTC, EAR, Customs, OFAC).
  • Experience with trade compliance software (Oracle GTM, MX annex 24 systems, Descartes).
  • Strong understanding of HTS codes and experience in HTS classification.
  • Experience in applying rules of origin.
  • Experience with global free trade agreements.
  • Knowledge of incoterms, bonded warehousing, and duty drawback programs.
  • Familiarity with international logistics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, global environment.
  • Certification such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) is a plus.
  • IT skills: proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
