Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated and proactive social worker to serve communities in Acapulco, Guerrero. This hands-on role connects vulnerable individuals with social services, builds trust, and supports access to programs across healthcare, housing, and education.

You will perform outreach, conduct assessments, and collaborate with local authorities and service providers to promote well-being in the community. A degree in Social Work and 2+ years of field experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in social work, community outreach, or case management.
• Strong knowledge of social issues and available resources in the Acapulco area.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
• Experience working in community settings and conducting fieldwork.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach activities to identify individuals and families in need of social services.
• Perform social assessments to determine client needs and eligibility for programs.
• Provide direct case management services, including support, counseling, and advocacy.
• Assist clients in accessing community resources such as healthcare, education, housing, and employment.
• Develop and implement small-scale community intervention programs.
• Facilitate workshops and information sessions on relevant social topics.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and prepare regular progress reports.
• Collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and other service providers.
• Respond to community needs during emergencies or crises.
• Promote client empowerment and self-sufficiency.
