Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Mexico.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience specializing in geriatric rehabilitation or geriatrics.
• Knowledge of common conditions affecting older adults (arthritis, stroke, dementia, Parkinson's).
• Proficiency in therapeutic assessment tools and intervention strategies for geriatrics.
• Excellent clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with elderly patients and families.
• Patience, empathy, and commitment to improving seniors' lives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of older adults' functional abilities, cognitive status, and home environments in Aguascalientes.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADLs and IADLs.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance fine/gross motor skills, cognition, and psychosocial well-being.
• Educate patients and families on adaptive equipment, home modifications, and energy conservation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate care.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans, and document interventions and outcomes.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and social activities to promote engagement.
• Recommend and trial adaptive equipment and assistive technology to maximize independence.
• Advocate for geriatric patients within the healthcare system and community.
• Stay current with advancements and best practices in geriatric occupational therapy.
