A leading machining company in San Luis Potosí seeks an experienced machining process engineer. You will analyze customer workpieces and select machine configurations, while preparing comprehensive quotations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and over 5 years of experience in CNC machining. Fluency in English is necessary, and you must be available to work on-site and travel as required. This role involves collaboration with both suppliers and project management for successful outcomes.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze customer workpieces and select the appropriate machine configuration.
• Create conceptual workholding and cutting tool layouts.
• Prepare the complete machine quotation including options and auxiliary systems.
• Reduce and simplify operational activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers for optimization.
• Work closely with Project Management and customers for success.
• Support the Applications team during runoff.

Desirable experience:

• 5+ years of experience in machining process engineering for CNC machining centers.
• 1+ year of experience in automotive or aerospace machining environments.

Main responsibilities:

• Analyze customer workpieces and select the appropriate machine configuration using SW products, including developing time studies, cutting strategies, and optimized machining sequences.
• Create conceptual workholding, cutting tool layouts, gaging strategies, probing sequences, and process documentation required for technical proposals.
• Prepare the complete machine quotation including options, auxiliary systems, tooling, fixtures, cycle time studies and any required process-related services.
• Reduce and simplify operational and setup activities: workpiece loading, tool setting, fixture changeover (when required), inline gaging and probing steps.
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to design, specify and optimize fixtures and cutting tools, ensuring robust performance and supporting field modifications.
• Work closely with Project Management and directly with customers to ensure all purchased equipment, processes and performance criteria are successfully achieved.
• Support the Applications team during runoff when dimensional results or statistical capability do not meet customer specifications.

Required knowledge:

• English proficiency (conversational or higher).
• Cutting tool selection, machining parameters and practical application.
• Conceptualization and evaluation of machining clamping fixtures.

Other requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• Availability to work on-site in San Luis Potosí.
• Availability to travel as needed.
