Purpose of the Role

To manage a team of on field and Desktop inspectors.

To drive best practice claims handling performance both in terms of optimal claims outcomes and customer service, and the technical and professional development of their team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • 1. Functional Responsibilities :
  • Manage the allocation of claims within their on field and desktop inspectors
  • Provide a technical referral point for team members and manage performance,
  • Keep the (LoB) Senior Manager advised of key Complex loss developments and wider Complex trends.
  • Execute strategic initiatives within their Inspectors team.
  • Ensure Appraisals 'Best Practices' is maintained within their inspector team.
  • Drive performance through required criteria
  • Ensure claims are accurately assessments and proactively look for compliment within agreed service levels
  • Embed use of balance scorecard / KPIs within team
  • Develop and implement initiatives with impact on processes, service and profitability

  • Effective resolution of technical auto claims handled by inspectors team
  • Accurate and consistent Claims cost control.
  • Mitigation of indemnity and expense spend trough estimates within their team
  • Performance manage the team to maximise best practice compliance and minimise lost economic opportunities.
  • Personal Development / Succession Planning for individuals within the inspectors Team.
  • Managing compliance with governance standards and regulatory requirements within the inspectors Team
  • Effective communication to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills_
  • People and team management experience, including the proven ability to effectively manage team members
  • Ability to positively influence, in a multi-cultural environment, stakeholders at every level both internally & externally
  • Highly effective communicator (written, verbal, presentation, training)
  • Ability to deliver strategic directives internally while also marketing AIG claims expertise externally.
  • Broad range of leadership competencies, from direction and pace setting to coaching and effective listening.
  • Identify and address performance issues within the team
  • Technical Skills and Expertise _
  • Fully developed specialist knowledge in (LoB) technical claims topics
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance and executive management) and external (brokers, major account clients)
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
  • A strong knowledge auto material damage assessments an procedural requirements
  • Experience in negotiation and mediation with TPA, Body Shops, an spare parts providers
  • Experience in conducting technical claims audits and effectively following up on findings.
  • Managing by numbers trough KPI ´s and develop deep analysis.
  • Strong ability to communicate, and train the whole claims team.
