A leading tool manufacturing company in Mexicali is seeking a Supply Chain & Trade Compliance Clerk. This role is responsible for ensuring import/export compliance by managing documentation and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, along with strong coordination and communication skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel is required, and the role demands good English proficiency.

Job Summary

The Supply Chain & Trade Compliance Clerk is responsible for supporting import and export operations by managing commercial documentation, ensuring customs compliance and coordinating with international suppliers, internal buyers, logistics teams, and customs brokers. This role plays a critical part in preventing customs delays, resolving documentation issues, and supporting urgent material flows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow up with international suppliers to obtain Commercial Invoices and Certificates of Origin required for import/export customs processes
  • Coordinate with internal buyers to collect and validate required commercial and compliance documentation
  • Review, organize, and control documentation for customs clearance processes
  • Resolve discrepancies with suppliers related to customs and commercial documentation
  • Coordinate with buyers and logistics coordinators to ensure compliance documentation is complete and accurate
  • Provide follow-up, coordination, and issue resolution for materials held by U.S. customs brokers
  • Support buyers with purchase order confirmations and expediting urgent material shipments
  • Participate in and support future projects related to procurement, customs, and supply chain compliance initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in import/export operations, international logistics, or a related role
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of import/export and customs processes
  • Familiarity with commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and customs documentation
  • Strong coordination, follow-up, and communication skills
  • Ability to resolve discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Experience working with customs brokers and international suppliers
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • English proficiency: intermediate level (reading and speaking) required
