Job summary

Omese is seeking a remote Especialista en Seguridad Industrial y Ambiental Remoto to lead HSE programs for the hydrocarbons sector from anywhere in Mexico. You will develop, implement, and oversee safety and environmental policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture across multiple sites.

The role requires experience in NOMs and ISO standards and the ability to train staff at all levels.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in industrial safety and environmental management.
• Knowledge of NOMs, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
• Spanish and English proficiency; reliable home internet.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems and programs.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
• Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Prepare HSE reports, statistics, and recommendations for management.
• Stay current with relevant HSE legislation, industry standards, and best practices.

About the Role

Our client, a leading entity in the hidrocarburos sector, is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Especialista en Seguridad Industrial y Ambiental Remoto. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to our critical safety initiatives from anywhere in Mexico. The role is fundamental to ensuring that all operations meet and exceed stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing HSE policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a robust safety culture. We are looking for a proactive professional with a strong commitment to occupational safety and environmental stewardship, capable of working independently and collaborating effectively with teams across various locations. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial safety and environmental management, preferably within the hidrocarburos or chemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of Mexican HSE regulations (e.g., NOMs) and international standards (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001).
• Proven experience in risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation, and safety program development.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency in developing and delivering training materials.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
• Must have a dedicated home office with reliable internet access.
