Vertiv Co in Monterrey, Mexico, is seeking a Logistics Leader to provide guidance to Import and Export Coordinators, ensuring that all movements of materials and products are safe, timely and cost effective.

You will drive daily planning, lead the team, enforce 5S and ergonomic standards, train operatives in standard work, and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, including Oracle-based processes, to boost productivity and reduce waste.

Brief Job Description:
  • Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the key objective of this role is to provide effective leadership to the Import and Export Coordinators. Doing so you will ensure that all movements of materials and products are done in a safe, timely and cost effect manner.
Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

  • Safety — Report accidents and near misses, 5S, ergonomics
  • Compliance — Train operatives in standard work
  • On-Time Delivery — Fulfill daily plan.
  • Productivity — Maintain and improve standard work.
  • Cost — Control scrap, waste, and operating supply.
  • Abnormality Response — Resolve abnormalities through problem solving
  • Continuous Improvement — Eliminate waste and standardize processes with Oracle.
  • Administration — Lead daily meeting and update internal customer teams
  • Human Resources — Develop, teach, and coach operatives.
Maintain Output Expectations:
  • Within your boundary of control meet or exceed KPIs set for:
    • Safety
    • Compliance
    • Import and Export Operations
    • Cost Control
    • Productivity/Efficiency of routine tasks
  • By delivering real time response to resolve irregularities and interruptions in flow.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all Legal, safety and Quality requirements for the movements of materials.
  • Assist with the preparation of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure 5S standards within your sections are maintained.
  • Manage communications within your area, while engaging support as required to maintain standard work.
  • Ensure that metrics are understood by all Stakeholders and results are maintained and displayed on a timely basis.
  • Anticipate and resolve irregularities in paperwork required to comply with legal requirements
  • Work Closely with Production Manager/s and Project Engineers to ensure deadlines are met in accordance with logistic schedules.
  • Ensure schedules are realistic, match requirements and are only amended with appropriate approvals
  • Lead problem solving activities to ensure timely response to irregularities, so gaps are closed.
  • Organize internal movement of materials between Ireland sites.
  • Ensure effective co-operation between associated processes and production sections.

  • Ensure appropriate development, training and coaching for the team.

  • Identify knowledge & skill gaps within your team and work to Teach, Track and Develop skills so their strengths are fully utilized.
  • Ensure team spirit, good team-working environment, conflict negotiation, individual and group communication.
  • Ensure awareness of Company rules and procedures and liaise / promote awareness amongst team members.
  • Manage absence within your team ensuring a consistent approach, utilizing the RTW process
  • Participate in disciplinary hearings as required ensuring fairness and integrity.
  • Provide peer input at annual performance review or other such competency review process.
  • Verify team members essential experience/qualification criteria for their roles.
  • Provide input for 3- & 6-month probationary review to be verified and signed off by Manager.
  • Manage all holiday entitlements for team personnel.
