Micron Technology is seeking a Layout Design Staff Engineer in Guadalajara, Mexico. This role involves designing critical analog and custom digital layouts primarily for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) solutions. Candidates should have over 7 years of experience in layout design using advanced CMOS processes and be proficient in Cadence and Mentor Graphics tools. The position requires collaboration with global engineering teams and strong leadership to guide others in layout execution, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Formación

• 7+ years of experience in analog/custom layout design in advanced CMOS processes.
• Hands-on experience in creating layouts of critical blocks such as PLL, ADC, DAC, etc.
• Understanding of layout effects on speed, capacitance, power, and area.

We are looking for Layout Design Staff Engineer at our Micron Technology’s HBM Team in Guadalajara, Mexico. As a Layout Design engineer, you will be working on intensive applications such as artificial intelligence and high-performance computing solutions (High Bandwidth Memory). You will be collaborating with peer teams across Micron’s global footprint in a multi-project environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for design and development of critical analog, mixed-signal, custom digital block and full chip level integration support.
• Perform layout verification such as LVS/DRC/Antenna, quality checks and documentation.
• Responsible for on-time delivery of block-level layouts of acceptable quality.
• Lead planning, area/time estimation, scheduling, delegation and execution to meet project schedule and milestones in a multi-project environment.
• Guide junior and senior team-members in their execution of sub-block level layouts and review their work.
• Effectively communicate with global engineering teams to assure the success of layout projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in analog/custom layout design in advanced CMOS processes, in various technology nodes (Planar, FinFET).
• BE or MTech in Electronic/VLSI Engineering, or related.
• Expertise in Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphics Calibre DRC/LVS is a must.
• Hands-on experience in creating layouts of critical blocks such as Temperature sensor, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, Bandgap, Reference Generators, Charge Pump, Current Mirrors, Comparator, Differential Amplifier, etc.
• Knowledge of analog layout fundamentals (e.g., Matching, Electromigration, Latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop, active and passive parasitic devices).
• Understanding layout effects on circuits such as speed, capacitance, power and area.
• Ability to understand design constraints and implement high-quality layouts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple tape-out support experience will be an added advantage.
• Experience in managing multiple layout projects, ensuring quality checks are taken care of at all stages of layout development.
• Excellent command and problem-solving skills in physical verification of custom layout.
