Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Reynosa, Mexico, seeks a Sr. Project Engineer to lead manufacturing and innovation projects that improve performance, quality, cost and operational excellence.

You will drive the introduction of new products, technologies and process improvements while providing technical leadership and coaching to engineering and manufacturing teams. The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years of experience, Green Belt certification, and advanced English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and process engineering.
• Green Belt certification or training is required.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience coaching and developing engineers or technicians.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects focused on process, equipment, quality, capacity, and cost improvements from concept through implementation.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges using root cause analysis, DOE, Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Develop and implement sustainable solutions to improve process performance and reliability; support new products and technologies.
• Design, optimize, and implement manufacturing equipment and systems, including installation, startup, and qualification activities.
• Serve as a technical SME in process control, SPC, SQC, OEE, and continuous improvement practices.
• Coach and develop engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel; contribute to technical roadmaps and innovation initiatives.
• Track project results through KPIs and ensure EHS compliance.

What is the role?

The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for leading engineering initiatives that improve manufacturing performance, product quality, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. This role drives the implementation of new products, technologies, and process improvements while providing technical leadership and coaching to engineering and manufacturing teams.

What will you do?

• Lead engineering projects focused on process, equipment, quality, capacity, and cost improvements from concept through implementation.
• Troubleshoot complex manufacturing challenges using root cause analysis, statistical tools, DOE, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Develop and implement sustainable solutions to improve process performance, reliability, and operational excellence. Support the introduction of new products, technologies, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Design, optimize, and implement manufacturing equipment and systems, including installation, startup, and qualification activities.
• Serve as a technical SME in process control, SPC, SQC, OEE, and continuous improvement practices.
