Corning seeks a skilled Production Planner to optimize manufacturing schedules, align production with demand, and manage capacity. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution and drive operational excellence.

The role requires SAP experience, 5+ years in supply chain, and strong analytical abilities. Candidates should be proficient with Excel and possess a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

  • Bachelor's in supply chain or related field required.
  • 5 years of supply chain experience required.
  • SAP experience required.
  • Experience in production planning or scheduling in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills essential.
  • APICS certification is a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Create and manage production schedules aligned with customer demand and resources.
  • Monitor and report metrics (OTP, PLT, order dating, late backlog) to ensure schedule attainment.
  • Coordinate capacity planning with operations and planning teams.
  • Collaborate with regional/global teams, purchasing, and engineering to address supply-demand gaps and changes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in production planning.

What is your role?

In this role, you will play a critical role in optimizing the efficiency of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory targets, and resource availability. This position requires strategic thinking, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, purchasing, and operations. Your efforts will ensure the seamless and timely execution of production activities while driving operational excellence and supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning Oversight : Create and manage production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations, aligning with customer demand and resource availability.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report key metrics such as OTP, PLT, order dating, late backlog to ensure schedule attainment and achieve target goals.
  • Capacity and Scheduling Management: Work closely with the operations team and the planning team to align capacity plans to customer needs.
  • Collaboration and Issue Resolution: Collaborate with regional and global teams, purchasing, operations, and engineering teams to address supply-demand gaps, backorders, and unexpected production changes.
  • SAP Expertise: Wide experience in planning transactions to support production orders management.
  • Process Improvement: Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in production planning processes.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on production adherence, capacity, and utilization to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration: Partner with other Corning sites and Global teams to successfully met customer requirements.
Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelors in SC or related field (Industrial Engineering, International Business, others).
  • 5 years supply chain experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
