Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking an Experienced Mechanical Engineer to execute product development and testing. You will enhance commonality and optimization of products and components, supporting cost reduction and performance goals.

The role requires leadership of cross-functional engineering projects, strong knowledge of development processes, DFMEA/PFMEA, GD&T, and experience with ERP/PLM systems. The position is based in Monterrey area and participates in compliance and quality efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/related technical discipline.
• 5–7 years in product development, sustaining or manufacturing support within HVAC/refrigeration.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering projects and cost savings.
• Strong understanding of development processes, design validation, ECR/ECN, DFMEA/PFMEA, GD&T, DFM.

Responsibilities

• Manage elements of product development activities including cost estimates, standard specifications, layout, and performance requirements.
• Execute test and qualification for systems, sub-systems, and components; review results and adjust as needed.
• Enhance commonality and optimization of product and components.
• Test models of alternate designs to assess operating conditions and modifications.
• Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines and work orders.
• Collaborate with quality and related departments to support test and field issue verification.

About the role

Experienced Mechanical Engineer executes elements of product development activities and testing. Responsible for enhancing commonality and optimization of product and components.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage elements of product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
• Execute test and qualification for systems, sub-systems, and components. Review test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
• Enhance commonality and optimization of product & components.
• Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects and necessity of modification.
• Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests
• Work with quality clinic and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Master's degree is considered a plus.
• 5 to 7 years of engineering experience in product development, sustaining engineering, value engineering, cost reduction, or manufacturing support within HVAC, refrigeration, or related industries.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering projects and delivering measurable cost savings.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, design validation, engineering change management (ECR/ECN), DFMEA/PFMEA, GD&T, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Experience developing business cases, cost analysis, ROI evaluations, and project financial justifications.
• Working knowledge of ERP and PLM systems such as SAP, Windchill, or equivalent.
• UL / ETL Qualification and Regulatory Compliance
