ABB in Apodaca, Mexico, is seeking a Production Development Specialist to optimize assembly methods, processes, and equipment, reducing labor hours while meeting quality, cost, and safety targets. You will define working phase sequences for new production processes to achieve target costs and equipment investments.

You will identify improvement opportunities, support startup of new processes, and lead testing and data-driven optimization using Lean principles and OEE monitoring.

Formación

• 4–5 years of professional experience in production/assembly optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with OEE and data-driven decision making.

Make it your story.Your Role: Own the ChallengeIn this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.The work model for the role is: #Li-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the switchboard assembly and fabrication area in Apodaca.You will be mainly accountable for:Identifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.Approving the design for processes developed internally or externally and performing final tests with respect to the project.Providing support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.Our team dynamicsYou will join a dynamic, talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.Qualifications for the roleYou have 4-5 years of professional experience and strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (CNC punching, press brake bending, MIG/TIG/spot welding, grinding, polishing) and assembly processes.Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering is strongly preferred.Highly adept in Autocad and SolidWorks and similar software.Expertise in OEE monitoring systems and demonstrated ability to use production data for process optimization.Knowledge of Lean principles.
