A leading power solutions company located in Mexicali, Baja California is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to perform applied research, development, and testing of power electronic products. The role requires 5-8 years of experience in electrical engineering, along with strong skills in electrical schematics and circuit analysis. Responsibilities include designing power products and diagnosing performance issues. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication and leadership abilities, as well as be comfortable working in a lab environment and traveling about 20% for the role.

Formación

Position Summary

Performs engineering work in applied research, design, development, testing, manufacturing process and documentation of products or systems.

Works with product marketing engineers to understand customer requirements in terms of power electronics and to ensure that the product(s) work in their application(s).

Uses research techniques to analyze and validate electronic/electrical design improvements, reading schematics and or theory of power concepts.

Provides direction and leadership to engineers and engineering technicians related to programs or specific work related to satisfy custormer products requirements required in faster way.

Interacts with senior level profesionals both internal and external to AE.

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design and analysis of electrical/electronics power PSU and related products, including their subsystems/circuits to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
• Responsible to diagnose product performance issues of diverse scope with design, field performance, reliability and test yields, and recommend/implement corrective actions to address.
• Assumes responsibility for the success of the product/system in the customers' applications and recommend/implement corrective actions as needed.
• Follows key engineering procedures including:

• Product Development Process
• PLE’s Dashboard update
• LAB operation process
• ECO process
• BOM update process
• Safety 60601 standard
• DFMA for pre-production transference
• NPI Risk assessment acknowledge
• Electronic acknowledge: Ability to demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining electrical/electronic solutions.

Work Environment

• Standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment, metrology equipment, testing bench and environmental chambers in a low noisy fast-paced lab 90% of the time,
• Must be able to travel 20 % of the time. Travel involves international and domestic travel to remote sites, customers and vendors.

Experience required

Five to Eight years of Electrical / Electronic engineering experience with focus on product performance understanding.

Highly skilled on electrical schematics and circuit analysis.

Education

Bachelor degree in Electrical / Electronic/ Mechatronic Engineering/Science or similar.

MD on Electrical Science related ( preferred)
