Carrier seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead mechanical design activities for HVAC equipment, translating product needs into detailed 3D models and production drawings. You will own assemblies, BOM data, and revisions while coordinating with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and testing teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical design, strong knowledge of Creo Parametric, Windchill, and SAP, and proficient English communication to drive cross-functional technical discussions and

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering.
• Five or more years of mechanical product design experience.
• Experience leading design activities or engineering changes.
• Experience with commercial HVAC or similar engineered equipment.
• Strong knowledge of parametric CAD systems, preferably Creo Parametric.
• Experience creating assemblies and production drawings.
• Experience with PLM systems, preferably Windchill.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, sheet metal, and manufacturing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

About The Role

Sr. Design Engineer professional assembles documentation packages, performs some calculations with regard to technical design, and develops detailed drawings using relevant tools.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sr. Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Own mechanical designs, assemblies, and equipment layouts.


• Lead design activities from concept through production implementation.


• Develop and review 3D models and drawings using Creo Parametric.


• Ensure accuracy of drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.


• Manage product revisions and engineering changes in Windchill.


• Maintain accurate part and BOM data within SAP.


• Make technical decisions based on performance, risk, and manufacturability.


• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles.


• Lead design reviews and resolve technical issues.


• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.


• Coordinate deliverables with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and testing.


• Manage priorities, risks, commitments, and delivery dates.


• Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, and mentoring.


• Identify and implement design and process improvements.


• Translate product and business needs into HVAC design solutions.


• Lead design changes from definition through production release.


• Ensure design quality, manufacturability, cost, and schedule performance.


• Serve as a technical reference for the engineering team.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering.


• Five or more years of mechanical product design experience.


• Experience leading design activities or engineering changes.


• Experience with commercial HVAC or similar engineered equipment.


• Strong knowledge of parametric CAD systems, preferably Creo Parametric.


• Experience creating assemblies and production drawings.
