Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking an OPEX FP&A Senior Analyst to join the Global OPEX COE. You will forecast, report and analyze OPEX spend, supporting business partners and senior stakeholders with timely insights and robust financial data.

You’ll work on monthly close activities, budgeting, and cost forecasting while leveraging tools such as SAP, Hyperion, EPM and Power BI. Strong communication and proactive collaboration are essential to drive profitability across regions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working FP&A experience, preferably in OPEX.
  • Deep understanding of forecasting and budgeting OPEX processes.
  • General accounting knowledge (accruals, prepayments, costs recognition).
  • Knowledge of media industry dynamics and key metrics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close from FP&A perspective with variance analysis on OPEX P&L.
  • Prepare and review actual spend with partners and budget holders; summarize findings for discussions.
  • Assist in monthly cost forecast submissions and update related systems.

Your New Role…

As the OPEX FP&A Senior Analyst you work within the Global OPEX COE which offers you a great opportunity to participate in the overall finance transformation roadmap setting standards for the financial processes related to OPEX spend. Your main responsibility is to ensure proactive and timely high-quality forecasting, reporting and analysis of the Opex costs. You will support the business partners in decision making and provide required reporting to senior business and FP&A stakeholders.

Your Role Accountabilities…

Supporting the month end close process from an FP&A perspective with variance analysis focusing on OPEX P&L Performing detailed reviews of actual spend with finance business partners and budget holders. Summarizing key findings to support discussions and decision which aim to improve business unit / regional profitability. Assisting in the production of the monthly cost forecast submission and updating of related systems Supporting the annual budget process, including the design of templates, the critical review of planning assumptions and the creation and analysis of business cases Providing insight of financial performance through accurate, timely and relevant reporting. Assist directly with business heads by helping them with the daily finance needs. Regularly interact with various business partners Interpretation and clear communication of results, reports and analysis Performing ad hoc tasks and creating new reporting related to cost management and governance meetings as appropriate. Maintaining and improving the processes supporting financial planning and analysis activities.

Qualifications & Experience…

3+ years of working experience preferably with experience in FP&A department Deep understanding of forecasting and budgeting OPEX process General accounting knowledge (accruals, prepayments, costs recognition) Knowledge of media industry dynamics and key metrics would be an asset CA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or education in progress desired Excellent analytical skills and key to details Strong MS Excel (power query, power pivot) & PowerPoint skills Clear, concise verbal and written communication. Assured self-starter on relevant projects and work is a plus. Pro-active and hands-on Strong IT affinity to drive required digital agenda in FP&A (EPM ie. Hyperion, SAP BPC, SAP Analysis, BI tools ie. Power BI). Prior transition experience is a plus. No travel expected. Must possess a flexible work style and be able to work beyond the normal schedule during peak periods in order to meet deadlines.

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis of actual financial results in relation to the forecast. Preparation and processing of accruals. Reporting and discussing the results with the appropriate Finance Director, to obtain complete understanding of the financial results and performance in the reporting area. Data sources: financial systems like SAP, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, EPM, Ariba; tools: excel Preparation of costs forecasts and annual budgets both for operational and capital expenses in cooperation with the Finance Director and/ or the business. Updating the data in financial systems. Preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis for the stakeholders, using SAP, Hyperion, EPM and other tools. Review and improvement of existing processes to accelerate the financial support.
