Carrier is seeking a Specialist, Procurement to ensure timely availability of direct materials and to balance service level, inventory, and cost. You will monitor supplier performance, analyze demand, and coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Engineering to resolve issues.

You will drive continuous improvement in inventory, lead-time optimization, and cost efficiency, while maintaining accurate supplier and PO data across systems.

Formación

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Experience in procurement, materials, supply chain, planning, or related areas.
• Knowledge of supplier management, negotiation, and data analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Managing and following up on purchase orders for direct materials to meet production needs.
• Monitoring supplier performance, including on-time delivery and lead times, and driving recovery plans.
• Analyzing material requirements and inventory to prevent shortages and obsolescence.
• Communicating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve supply issues.
• Identifying and mitigating risks impacting production continuity through proactive follow-up.

About the role

As a Specialist, Procurement, you will ensure the timely availability of direct materials to support our production plans and business requirements. You'll maintain the optimal balance between service level, inventory, and cost - minimizing line-stoppage risks while driving continuous improvement in supplier performance through proactive follow-up and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and following up on purchase orders for direct materials, ensuring timely delivery according to production requirements
• Monitoring supplier performance, including OTD, past due, lead time, and delivery commitments, identifying risks and driving recovery plans
• Analyzing material requirements, inventory levels, and demand to prevent shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence
• Maintaining close communication with suppliers and internal teams such as Planning, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Engineering to resolve supply issues
• Monitoring critical materials and proactively escalating any risk that could impact production continuity
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory reduction, lead-time optimization, supplier performance, and cost efficiency
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date supplier, purchase order, delivery, and commitment information in the corresponding systems
• Executing processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement goals, including RFPs, negotiations, cost accountability, and/or program execution
• Approving and qualifying vendors to fulfill account needs
• Authorizing purchase orders and approving payments to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly
• Analyzing and reviewing price proposals, financial reports, and other data to provide input on reasonable pricing
• Preparing and reviewing requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid packages
• Analyzing and monitoring contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations

Requirements

We are looking for people who are analytical, proactive, and strong communicators, with solid organizational and negotiation skills. One must be a minimum of:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in Procurement, Materials, Supply Chain, Planning, or related areas
• Experience managing and following up with suppliers and purchase orders
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis
• Intermediate to advanced English
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple activities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong follow-up, negotiation, and supplier management skills

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• 5+ years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years)
• Broad knowledge of Carrier's organization, programs, or systems
