FORVIA HELLA in Mexico is seeking an experienced embedded software project manager. You will coordinate multi‑site teams across regions, drive the software development lifecycle for automotive systems, and ensure timely releases while managing scope and risks.

The role requires strong embedded C expertise, 6+ years in software project leadership, and proficiency in English. You will work with global stakeholders and apply Agile/Scrum or SAFe practices to deliver high‑quality results.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering.
• Very good embedded C knowledge with 3+ years in software development.
• 6+ years of experience in managing software projects.
• 6+ years in software development for embedded automotive systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with global teams.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in Agile Scrum, Kanban and SAFe.

Responsabilidades

• Identify work packages and activities and define the work breakdown structure.
• Coordinate planning activities and develop, implement, and verify the development schedule.
• Coordinate multiple locations and organizations (Romania, India, USA, Mexico).
• Communicate and negotiate with customers on software topics.
• Develop and update project plans considering timing and resources.
• Set priorities to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Estimate size and costs of the software project.
• Monitor progress and ensure timely software release.
• Initiate escalation for severe deviations and risks.
• Create reports and KPIs; manage stakeholder expectations.
• Engage with technical teams and participate in design discussions.
• Lead technical decisions to achieve milestones and objectives.
• Identify risks and communicate status proactively.
• Ensure work aligns with HELLA quality processes.

YOUR TASKS

• Identify work packages and activities (work break-down structure).


• Coordinate the planning activities and being responsible for preparation, implementation, and verification of the development schedule.


• Coordinate multiple locations and organizations for diverse topics (Romania, India, USA, Mexico)


• Communicate and negotiate directly with customer for Software topics.


• Develop and update project plan considering timing and resources.


• Set priorities to meet deadlines.


• Estimate size and costs of the software project.


• Monitor and control project progress and timely software release.


• Initiate escalation scenario in case of severe deviations.


• Create reports and metrics of software project KPIs.


• Effectively engage with and manage the expectations of a variety of stakeholders.


• Participate in technical discussions with the project technical team.


• Lead and make technical decisions based on constrains to achieve milestones and objectives.


• Identify and manage risks. Actively communicate status.


• Ensure that the work is according the HELLA quality process and help others reach the required quality standards.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering.


• Very good embedded C knowledge, with more than 3 years of experience in software development processes.


• Experience in managing software projects (6+ years).


• Experience in software development for embedded systems in automotive industry (6+ years).


• Good communications and presentation skills, assertiveness, and the ability to take discussions and open issues to closure by working with local and global teams.


• Proactive & self-driven individual, results orientated with a growth attitude and strong dedication. Customer and quality oriented.


• Proficient in English communication, verbal and written.


• Experience in Agile Scrum, Kanban and or SAFe.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in Automotive development based on V-Model process (Automotive SPICE).


• Knowledge in Functional Safety ISO 26262 and experience up to ASIL B.


• Experience in Static Analysis with QAC or similar tools.


• Knowledge in MKS Source Integrity and MKS Integrity Manager tools.


• Experience using requirement management and/or change management tools (e.g. DOORS, PTC).


• Experience in Body Controls products and software development (6+ years)


• Experience in ALM and Gitlab for change management and revision control.
