Ria Money Transfer, a financial services provider, is seeking a Software Lead in Core Ria Systems. You will set technical direction for backend services and full-stack components, lead a small team, and remain hands-on to ensure scalable, reliable, and customer-aligned systems.

You will mentor engineers, enforce coding standards, and partner with product, architecture, and security to shape the technical roadmap. Strong leadership and hands-on software engineering are essential.

Formación

• 7+ years of professional software development in large-scale systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on .NET/C# development building production services.
• 2+ years leading engineers in a technical lead or team lead role with mentoring and decisions.
• 3+ years designing REST/SOAP services and integration components.
• Strong experience with relational databases including stored procedures, ETL, and schema design.
• Understanding of cloud-native concepts, distributed systems, and scalable service design.
• Experience with modern CI/CD practices for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Able to lead and collaborate in Agile teams and adapt to evolving technical needs.
• Clear written and verbal communication to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Set engineering standards for coding, testing, branching, documentation, and observability.
• Partner with product, architecture, infrastructure, and security to translate business objectives into a technical roadmap.
• Lead design reviews and drive cross-team technical decisions and integration contracts.
• Own production readiness including performance, monitoring, alerting, and post-incident follow-through.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP services; build and optimize SQL Server stored procedures and ETL workflows.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Software Lead in Core Ria Systems, you will set the technical direction for the backend services, integrations, and full-stack components that power Ria's global financial ecosystem. You will lead a small team of engineers through the full software development lifecycle — owning design decisions, driving engineering quality, and mentoring others — while remaining hands‑on in the codebase. You will be accountable for ensuring our high‑volume systems remain scalable, resilient, and aligned with the needs of our customers and business stakeholders.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership

• Own the technical design and architecture of core money transfer and financial processing components, balancing delivery speed against long-term maintainability.
• Lead a team of engineers day to day: assign and sequence work, unblock the team, and hold the bar on quality and delivery commitments.
• Mentor and grow engineers through pairing, code review, and structured feedback; support onboarding and skills development across the team.
• Set and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, branching, documentation, and observability.
• Partner with product, architecture, infrastructure, and security stakeholders to translate business objectives into a realistic technical roadmap.
• Lead design reviews and drive consensus on cross-team technical decisions and integration contracts.
• Own production readiness for the team's services, including performance, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident follow-through.

Hands-On Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP services supporting core money transfer and financial processing workflows.
• Build and optimize SQL Server stored procedures, ETL workflows, functions, and database objects for high-volume transactional systems.
• Develop backend components and system integrations with internal and external partners.
• Maintain and enhance web or Windows applications used by global operations teams.
• Interpret business requirements and create clear functional specifications and test data.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to build intuitive, responsive interfaces.
• Conduct peer reviews, contribute to design discussions, and support best development practices across the team.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement of performance, observability, and reliability.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise or large-scale systems.
• 3+ years of hands‑on .NET/C# development experience building production services and applications.
• 2+ years leading engineers in a technical lead, team lead, or equivalent senior capacity — including mentoring, code review ownership, and technical decision‑making.
• 3+ years designing and building REST/SOAP services and integration components.
• Strong experience with relational databases, including stored procedures, ETL processes, optimization, and schema design.
• Demonstrated ability to own an end‑to‑end technical design and defend it in cross‑functional review.
• Understanding of cloud‑native application concepts, such as distributed systems, message‑based architectures, and scalable service design.
• Experience working with modern CI/CD practices for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in Agile teams and adapt to evolving technical needs.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience in payments, remittance, banking, or another regulated financial domain.
• Exposure to high‑availability, high‑throughput transactional systems.
