Hims & Hers is seeking a visionary Sr. Staff Engineer to define architectural direction for customer-facing frontend platforms.

You will drive scalable UI systems, establish design-system patterns, and ensure high-performance, accessible experiences that align with our brand. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor senior engineers, and partner with product leadership to ship strategic frontend initiatives that impact millions of users.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering with leadership experience at scale.
• Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React/Next.js) and production-grade web performance.
• Full-stack capability (Node.js and Python) enabling end-to-end ownership of features and systems.
• Experience building and scaling design systems, component libraries, or shared frontend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the frontend architectural vision, aligning with business strategy.
• Lead cross-org initiatives focused on long-term scale, system boundaries, and UI capabilities from design systems to rendering architecture.
• Drive frontend excellence: performance, accessibility, and visually polished experiences aligned with brand.
• Establish patterns and governance for quality, resilience, observability, and maintainability across teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to shape product direction and promote shared architectural patterns and tooling.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster talent density, engineering rigor, and continuous learning.
• Navigate ambiguity, remove blockers, and accelerate delivery of strategic frontend initiatives.
• Translate customer needs into scalable technical solutions and ensure customer obsession in architecture.
