HighLevel, a remote-first AI-powered business operating system, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to own the architecture of its billion-scale distributed system. You’ll oversee 50+ deployments, ensure resilience, and prevent cascading failures across pods on GKE, Pub/Sub, Redis, and multiple data stores.

You’ll lead design reviews, mentor teams, and drive strategies that keep AI-assisted engineering safe and scalable as the company grows.

Formación

• 10+ years of engineering experience with ownership of large-scale distributed systems.
• You've carried sole accountability for a production system through real failures.
• Deep command of queueing and async architectures, delivery semantics, ordering, backpressure, idempotency.
• Strong with multiple storage engines (SQL and NoSQL) and scaling considerations.
• Expert-level depth in Redis or comparable in-memory systems.
• Production experience on Kubernetes at scale (GKE).
• Fluent in Node.js and/or Go, capable of prototyping proposals and shipping fixes.

Responsabilidades

• Own the architecture health of a billion-scale distributed system.
• Approve critical-path designs and maintain system soundness.
• Hunt gaps, single points of failure, and drive fixes before incidents.
• Prototype risky architectural bets and lead cross-team debugging.
• Make resilience a system property with backpressure and isolation boundaries.
• Raise the teams around you through design reviews and post-mortems.
• Set standards for safe AI-assisted engineering on critical systems.
