Role Overview

We are seeking a Process Optimization & Product Manager for a full-time, 6-month engagement with strong potential for extension based on performance. You will work within the Business Excellence department to help execute the organization's highest-impact initiatives by combining process optimization expertise with product management skills. This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with tactical execution—diving into process improvements, facilitating change management, and collaborating with cross-functional teams without getting lost in the weeds. You will work directly with the VP of Business Excellence and interact regularly with directors and senior leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead process optimization initiatives across various business units, focusing on projects that increase revenue, operational efficiency, and overall business impact.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze current processes, and recommend improvements using methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Six Sigma.
  • Apply root cause analysis and change management techniques to identify critical points and design effective solutions.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives by providing technical expertise and process thinking to help business units articulate and refine their approaches.
  • Develop specifications and process documentation that balance detail with clarity, ensuring teams understand the overarching objectives without losing focus.
  • Coordinate technical components of projects, including evaluating vendors, automating processes, and integrating technology solutions with manual workflows.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams including developers, architects, and product managers to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions and workshops with senior leadership to scope initiatives, define success metrics, and drive execution.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong judgment and decision-making.
  • Translate complex technical and process concepts into clear, actionable plans for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay objective and solution-focused, avoiding over-engineering or excessive detail that could slow down execution.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional experience in process optimization, product management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record working with senior leaders (directors and above) and managing high-impact business initiatives independently.
  • Strong background in process improvement methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with change management and process transformation in complex organizational environments.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution—understanding when to dive deep and when to stay high-level.
  • Technical aptitude with exposure to technology products, systems integration, and automation tools (no deep technical expertise required, but comfort working alongside technical teams is essential).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead discussions, present findings, and influence decision-makers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Highly independent, self-directed, and capable of managing competing priorities without requiring constant oversight.
  • Experience scoping projects, creating specifications, and coordinating cross-functional execution.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, or other CRM/automation platforms.
  • Background working with product managers, developers, and technical architects on system implementations or integrations.
  • Exposure to project management tools and frameworks (e.g., Asana, Jira, Monday.com).
  • Six Sigma, PMP, or Agile certifications (valued for knowledge, but practical experience is prioritized over credentials).
  • Experience designing and facilitating workshops or training sessions for process improvement.
