IMI plc is seeking a Product Engineer II to develop new products and redesign existing ones to meet customer needs while optimizing cost. You will work with Project Managers, Process and Quality Engineers, Test Lab, Purchasing, and Sales, contributing to robust designs and efficient manufacturing on-site.

The role emphasizes collaboration to deliver high-quality products, handle design changes, and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in development or modifications to existing products.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Core Tools (SPC, AMEF, PPAP, MSA, APQP).
  • Intermediate knowledge of IATF 16949.
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge.
  • Advanced CAD modeling proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • Design new products based on customer needs or market trends.
  • Model parts during design and modification work.
  • Evaluate change requests and deviations.
  • Define validation tests for design changes and interpret results.
  • Collaborate with Process/Quality Engineers to improve designs.
  • Provide technical product advice to customers.
  • Develop Design FMEA for existing/modifications.
  • Analyze manufacturing feasibility of new/modified products.
  • Lead design changes to reduce cost while preserving quality.
  • Respond to customer requests about material standards compliance.

Role Overview

Product Engineer II aims to develop new products in an innovative way that meet the requirements of the customer oriented towards cost optimization. It also redesigns current products to improve their performance, cost or adapt them to the specific needs of other customers or applications.

Works together with Project Managers, Process and Quality Engineers, Test Lab, Purchasing and Sales (Key Account Managers).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design new products based on internal, external or market customer needs. This may include analyzing current products to match the needs of new customers.
  • Model parts during the analysis for the design of new products or modifications to existing ones, as well as the execution of the design work.
  • Evaluate and provide for requests for engineering changes and deviations.
  • Define the necessary validation tests for changes and/or modifications of product design, as well as the interpretation of results.
  • Actively participate with Process and Quality Engineers for the improvement of designs as a result of customer complaints or opportunities to make their manufacturing more efficient.
  • Provide technical advice on products for internal or external customers related to operation, applications, product limitations, etc.
  • Develop Design FMEA for existing products and/or modifications
  • Analyze together with the process engineer the technology to be used for the manufacture of a new or modified product so that the manufacture and design of the product are aligned
  • Lead the implementation of design changes to improve the cost of products without compromising product quality.
  • Analyze and respond to customer requests related to compliance with material standards (RoHS, REACH, etc.).
  • Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in matters ambiental.in environmental matters.
Critical Competencies for Success
Education And Experience
  • Mechanical Engineer /Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 5 years minimum of experience in development or modifications to existing products.
  • 3 years minimum of experience in manufacturing areas.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Core Tools (SPC, AMEF, PPAP, MSA, and APQP)
  • Intermediate knowledge of IATF 16949
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T
  • Advanced knowledge in modeling software (CAD)
