Weir is seeking a Senior OT/IIoT Engineer to lead the development, installation, and commissioning of digital industrial solutions at mining sites in a hybrid work model.

You will coordinate with regional engineers, configure automation cabinets, and ensure robust IT/OT integration across DCS systems while traveling to customer sites as required. Strong English/Spanish communication is essential in a global team.

Qualificações

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 5+ years in OT/industrial integration.
• Proven OT integration and industrial system integration experience.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and communications protocols.

What you’ll do

• Oversee and approve the development of IIoT systems, ensuring robust design and functionality aligned with Weir’s NEXT Intelligent digital solutions. Daily activities include system testing, troubleshooting, and providing level 3 technical support both remotely and onsite. Success is measured by seamless deployments and high customer satisfaction.
• Lead installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of digital IIoT solutions at customer sites, coordinating closely with regional engineers and customers. Regular travel is required to support field operations.
• Design and configure electrical automation cabinets and electromechanical solutions, utilizing expertise in PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial communication protocols. Ensure effective IT/OT integration for customer DCS systems.
• Engage proactively with internal teams, customers, and contractors to implement digital solutions effectively. Mentor team members and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in OT (Operational Technology) integration, industrial system integration, and communication between industrial systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking, communication architectures, and communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, MQTT, TCP/IP, or similar).
• Experience with protocol configuration, troubleshooting, and connectivity between industrial control systems, including DCS and related environments.
• Knowledge of Industrial IoT (IIoT), digital sensors, industrial data collection, digital communications, and data connectivity principles.
• Experience supporting installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial systems in operational environments.
• Customer-facing experience and willingness to travel to industrial or mining sites as required.
• Ability to work independently, manage technical discussions with customers, troubleshoot issues autonomously, and execute work with limited supervision.
• Good communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to participate in meetings, collaborate with global teams, and understand technical documentation.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with cloud-based IoT platforms, cloud communications, AVEVA PI, or PI Asset Framework.
• Experience with Studio 5000, TIA Portal, TwinCAT, or PLC programming.
• Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, or NERC-CIP.
• Knowledge of Node-RED and Python.
• Experience in mining environments, manufacturing, industrial automation, oil & gas, or other heavy industrial sectors.
