Clarios, LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of advanced energy storage systems for automotive electrification. The role requires collaboration with electrical, systems, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure innovation, quality and manufacturability.

The successful candidate will design mechanical components with SolidWorks, apply GD&T, and drive DFMEA/DVP&R compliant validation plans, while supporting cost reduction initiatives

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience in plastic part design and injection molding.
• SolidWorks experience (2+ years).
• Knowledge of DFMEA and DVP&R.

## Senior Mechanical Design EngineerApply: Mexico, Nuevo León, San Pedro Garza Garcia: Full time: Posted Today: WD50887**The Role** Mechanical Design Engineer – Engineering Department. This role is responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of advanced energy storage systems for electric and hybrid vehicles, ensuring innovation, quality, manufacturability, and compliance with OEM and aftermarket requirements.**What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)*** Design and coordinate product development of advanced energy storage systems focused on automotive electrification technologies.* Oversee the design and development of mechanical components and sub-systems of lithium-ion batteries in collaboration with electrical, systems, software, and manufacturing teams.* Design multiple complex mechanical components using SolidWorks, including molded plastic, metal, and structural parts for high-volume production.* Prepare and review packaging studies for new product development and customer vehicle integration.* Lead or conduct FEA and CFD analysis, validation testing, and results interpretation in areas such as vibration durability, mechanical shock, crashworthiness, and structural engineering.* Perform tolerance stack-ups and apply GD&T principles; provide coaching to other engineers.* Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) and sustainable lifecycle design to ensure ease of handling from production through disassembly and recycling.* Prepare technical documentation including DFMEAs, evaluations, test requests, and reports, and contribute to validation plans (DVP&R).* Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues and optimize component sourcing.* Lead cost reduction initiatives and support product quality through APQP.**What Success Looks Like*** **KPIs:** Achieve product development timelines and deliver successful product launches.* **Quality:** Design free of critical failures with verified manufacturability and DFMEA/DVP&R compliance.* **Impact:** Cost reduction through component optimization and strong internal stakeholder satisfaction.* **Behavioral Indicators:** Serves as a technical reference and cross-functional collaborator.**Core Competencies*** Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving approach.* Engineering project management and technical leadership.* Cross-functional collaboration and clear communication.* Quality orientation, continuous improvement, and efficient design execution.* Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).**What You Bring (Qualifications)*** **Required:** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Proven experience in plastic part design and injection molding processes. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on SolidWorks experience. Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and proficiency in MS Office tools.* **Preferred:** General understanding of electrical and thermal engineering.
