Job summary

Flex in Mexico is seeking a Senior Environment Health & Safety Engineer (electrical) to join the Guadalajara site, North region. You will develop and implement safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, driving an accident-free environment.

Daily duties include SPCC planning, SF6 gas management, high-voltage emergency readiness, fire-safety system oversight, and contractor safety alignment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience required.
• NFPA 70E and ISO risk/auditing certifications preferred.
• Experience in environmental safety programs compliance.
• Strong knowledge of high voltage systems and safety protocols.
• Excellent documentation and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Environmental & Asset Integrity: manage SPCC plans for 230 kV transformers and ensure secondary containment.
• SF6 Gas Management: track leak rates and ensure recovery procedures follow standards.
• Emergency Response & Preparedness: develop High-Voltage Rescue Plans and train teams.
• Fire Suppression Systems: monitor readiness of deluge and dry-chemical systems near main busbars.
• Human Factor & Training: define 'Qualified Person' criteria for high voltage work and verify competencies.
• Contractor Management: oversee Bridging Document to align third-party safety protocols with internal standards.
• Critical Infrastructure Integrity: oversee predictive maintenance incl. Thermography, DGA, and SF6 monitoring to prevent failures.
• Step and Touch Potential: verify substation grounding grid integrity to prevent electrocution.
