Job summary

JLL is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support, maintain, and advance the enterprise data platform. This global role requires partnering with the JLLT team across country, regional, and global levels, leveraging Azure, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tools.

Responsibilities include platform development, infrastructure as code, cost governance, and mentoring teams to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infra Eng roles.
• Expert-level with Azure services and cloud patterns.
• Advanced experience with IaC tools, esp. Terraform.
• Strong CI/CD design and implementation background.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar.
• Solid knowledge of data platform tech and big data ecosystems.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools like DataDog, CloudWatch, Prometheus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with application teams to deliver new user-facing functionality, data ingestion, and analytics features.
• Design and implement internal platform capabilities, including monitoring, testing frameworks, and performance tools.
• Manage support queues across data platform domains and meet SLAs.
• Design, build, and maintain IaC solutions using Terraform and CI/CD integration.
• Standardize environment provisioning across dev, staging, prod environments.
• Develop scalable, reliable infrastructure components for the data platform.
• Promote Infrastructure as Code practices across the platform team.
• Mentor teams on tools, patterns, and best practices.
• Work with data engineers/scientists to unblock deliverables and drive innovation.

About the role

• We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is a self-starter to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment to support, maintain and advance the capabilities of the enterprise data platform.

• This is an individual contributor role that is responsible for designing, developing and supporting solutions that are strategic for the business and built on the latest technologies and patterns.

• This a global role that requires partnering with the broader JLLT team at the country, regional and global level by utilizing in-depth knowledge of Azure, infrastructure, technologies and DevSecOps engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Platform Development & User Experience

• Collaborate with application teams to prioritize and deliver new user-facing functionality, including data ingestion capabilities, subscription-based data consumption models, and advanced analytics features

• Design and implement internal platform capabilities such as comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems, automated testing frameworks, and performance optimization tools

• Manage and maintain support queues across data platform domains (Ingest, Prepare, Storage, Consume) while establishing and meeting agreed-upon SLAs

Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, including modules, workspaces, state management, and CI/CD integration

• Standardize environment provisioning processes across development, staging, and production environments

• Develop scalable, reliable, and well-monitored infrastructure components that form the backbone of JLL's data platform

• Champion and implement "Infrastructure as Code" practices across the entire platform team

Financial Operations & Cost Governance

• Establish comprehensive tagging strategies, budget controls, and chargeback mechanisms to ensure transparent cost allocation.

• Optimize compute, storage, and job configurations for cost efficiency while maintaining performance standards.

• Implement storage lifecycle policies and automated cost optimization practices.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and coach application teams on tools, technologies, and design patterns to promote best practices across the organization.

• Participate in monthly Architecture Review Board meetings, providing technical expertise and infrastructure perspective.

• Collaborate closely with application team leads to ensure CI/CD frameworks, component monitoring, and incident escalation procedures meet team needs

• Work with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to unblock deliverables and enable rapid innovation.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness

Experience & Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles

• Expert-level proficiency with Azure services and Cloud Architecture patterns

• Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform

• Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design and implementation

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar)

• Solid understanding of data platform technologies and big data ecosystems

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (DataDog,CloudWatch, Prometheus, or similar)
