Tyson Mexico is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to lead cross-disciplinary software projects and guide AI-assisted development across the full tech stack. You will establish engineering best practices, mentor junior engineers, and shape data pipelines, integrations, and test frameworks.

The role requires experience in AI agent configurations, prompt engineering, and strong DevOps knowledge. Collaboration with stakeholders to align solutions with business goals is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in CS/Eng or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in software engineering roles.

Job Details

The Senior Development Engineer is an experienced professional who leads software projects and teams across all skill dimensions. They design and architect solutions spanning application code, integrations, data pipelines, test frameworks, and infrastructure. They provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code review to team members, and are responsible for establishing and encoding engineering best practices - including AI agent configurations and prompt standards that enable junior developers to work effectively across the entire stack. This position consolidates responsibilities formerly held by the specialized Senior Development Engineer, Senior Integration Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer, and Senior IT Data Engineer roles.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Help design software, integration, data, and testing architecture; deliver high-complexity tasks across all skill dimensions as part of a team.
• Define and encode engineering standards into AI coding agents; establish prompt templates, review criteria, and guardrails for AI-assisted development.
• Create and maintain prompt templates and agent workflows that enable junior developers to operate across the entire stack; review and improve the quality of AI-generated output at an enterprise level.
• Coach team members on advanced AI-assisted development techniques; evaluate new AI tools and capabilities for potential adoption.
• Design, code, and debug applications in various software languages or tools; design software architecture with design patterns across multiple front-end and back-end frameworks.
• Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; lead peer review of code changes.
• Help design testing architecture and strategy for the team and organization; build frameworks for automated testing integrated with Version Control, DevOps & CI/CD.
• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts; lead performance, load, and stress testing efforts, analyzing results and driving remediation.
• Collect and analyze quality metrics; present test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders; design and oversee risk-based testing strategies.
• Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT) at an enterprise scale.
• Help design integration architecture for the enterprise; design and implement scalable, reliable, secure integration solutions. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
• Design patterns for APIs and Web Services (RESTful, SOAP, gRPC), middleware and message brokers, ETL processes, and integration platforms. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
• Oversee integration platform management (SnapLogic, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Apache Camel, Talend); respond to and resolve complex integration incidents with root cause analysis and preventive measures. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
• Lead the design and orchestration of complex data pipelines and ETL processes, focusing on optimizing data models; architect scalable data solutions including data warehousing and big data technologies. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
• Implement advanced data governance frameworks and ensure robust data security measures; optimize cloud costs by strategically using cloud resources and efficient data architectures. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
• Lead the development of data visualization strategies that contribute to data-driven decision-making; oversee complex data pipeline orchestration across systems. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
• Interact with 3rd party vendors to incorporate new functionality and evaluate tools. (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
• Design and manage cloud infrastructure programmatically using Infrastructure as Code (IaC); design patterns for DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or equivalent).
• Design patterns for security (authentication, authorization, encryption) and ensure compliance; design patterns for monitoring and troubleshooting (Splunk, ELK Stack, or equivalent).
• Set up and maintain environments representative of production configurations.
• Lead and influence in collaborative meetings with peers and stakeholders; lead interactions with stakeholders to create requirements and demonstrate work.
• Document code, architecture decisions, integration processes, APIs, and outcomes; help establish software product engineering best practices across all skill dimensions. Review and correct others. Scope: Enterprise.
• Work independently with some direct supervision; apply broad or specialized knowledge acquired through education, advanced training, or practical experience.
• Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization’s vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree, or a significant amount of relevant experience. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Quantitative or Engineering Field preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant and practical experience.

Special Skills

• Programming (proficient in multiple languages or software tools).
• Design patterns in multiple front-end and back-end frameworks.
• Proficient in Data Engineering (pipelines, warehousing, streaming, governance) (preferred).
• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
