Job summary

Golabs Tech is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Digital Operations team, focusing on production support, platform reliability, incident management, monitoring, and continuous improvement for Azure-based data and analytics platforms.

You will work across engineering, business, and support teams to keep critical data services stable, reliable, and performant while meeting business SLAs. 5+ years in data engineering and strong Azure expertise are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related data platform roles.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting Azure data platforms in production environments.
• Experience troubleshooting pipeline failures, data issues, performance problems, and production incidents.
• Experience performing RCA and implementing permanent fixes.
• Experience with SLAs, incident management, and operational processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call or major incident support.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Azure-based data and analytics platforms.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, critical defects, pipeline failures, and performance issues.
• Monitor data pipelines, workflows, platform health, and performance using Azure monitoring tools.
• Perform RCA and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure reliable execution of critical end-to-end data workflows and business processes.
• Support incident response, major incident management, and on-call activities when required.
• Identify recurring issues and drive improvements to reduce incidents and improve platform stability.
• Collaborate with data engineers, platform teams, product teams, and business stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, incident reports, and knowledge repositories.
• Communicate incident status, impact, resolution, and follow-up actions clearly to stakeholders.
• Contribute to operational standards and best practices around reliability, observability, and service management.

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a Digital Operations team supporting enterprise-scale Azure Data & Analytics platforms.

This role is focused on production support, platform reliability, incident management, monitoring, and continuous improvement. You’ll work across engineering, business, and support teams to keep critical data services stable, reliable, and performant while meeting business SLAs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related data platform roles.
• Strong hands‑on experience supporting Azure data platforms in production environments.
• Hands‑on experience with:
• Azure monitoring and observability tools
• Proven experience providing L2/L3 production support for data platforms.
• Experience troubleshooting pipeline failures, data issues, performance problems, and production incidents.
• Strong experience performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing permanent fixes.
• Experience working within SLAs, incident management, and operational processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, business, and support teams.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call or major incident support when required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Experience developing operational runbooks and service documentation.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, alerting, and proactive platform health management.
• Experience supporting enterprise‑scale or business‑critical data platforms.

Candidates must be based in Mexico.
