Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Senior Data Analyst and Data Scientist for a fast-paced Mérida-based project, now remote. You will extract insights from large datasets, build predictive models, and guide strategic decisions using rigorous statistical methods.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis and data science roles.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R, including libraries for data science (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and transform large datasets from multiple sources.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Develop and implement statistical models and ML algorithms for predictive analysis and forecasting.
• Design and conduct A/B tests to evaluate product changes and marketing strategies.
• Create insightful data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau/Power BI.
• Communicate complex findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define data requirements and instrumentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and new analytical approaches.
• Stay current with advances in data science and analytics.
• Ensure data quality and integrity across analyses.
