Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Sr. Category Manager in Mexico to lead development and execution of sourcing strategies for key commodities, driving cost optimization and supplier performance.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, influence strategic business decisions, and build strong supplier relationships to support operational excellence and new product development across the organization.

Formación

• We are looking for people who are strategic, analytical, collaborative, and results-driven, with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading Category or Commodity Management strategies, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of SRM and total cost of ownership (TCO).

About the role

As a Sr. Category Manager, you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for key commodities, driving cost optimization, supplier performance, and long-term value creation. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams, influence strategic business decisions, and build strong supplier relationships that support operational excellence and new product development across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sr. Category Manager, you'll be responsible for:

• Developing and executing category and commodity strategies aligned with business objectives and manufacturing priorities.
• Leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contract management to deliver cost savings and long-term value.
• Building and managing strategic supplier relationships to improve quality, delivery, innovation, and overall supplier performance.
• Partnering with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and New Product Development teams to support sourcing decisions and business growth.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives, supplier risk mitigation, and cost optimization through data-driven decision making.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading Category or Commodity Management strategies, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, supplier relationship management (SRM), and total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead complex sourcing initiatives in a global organization.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• Experience supporting New Product Development (NPD) initiatives and engineering-driven sourcing projects.
• Exposure to global sourcing strategies and international supplier management.
• Experience implementing cost reduction, supplier development, or continuous improvement initiatives.
