Formación

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement of direct materials, preferably in the food or manufacturing industry.

  • Advanced / Fluent English (spoken and written).

Position Overview

The Senior Buyer is responsible for leading the procurement of raw materials to ensure uninterrupted supply for production while optimizing cost, quality, and service levels.

This role requires strong negotiation skills, strategic supplier management, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Planning, Quality, Finance, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned material categories.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply risks to anticipate potential impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical procurement standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand material requirements and forecast demand.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Analyze supplier performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Support new product launches by sourcing and qualifying new suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP systems and ensure timely purchase orders.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement of direct materials, preferably in the food or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Power BI experience, preferred.
  • Experience working with global teams or stakeholders, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced / Fluent English (spoken and written).
